These beautiful baskets are made in the home to the displaced Tonga people. Today, the many Tonga women utilize traditional weaving techniques to create intricate patterned baskets. Tonga baskets are handwoven using a herringbone pattern to interlock and keep the local harvest from falling through, while its' original purpose of these baskets were to winnowing grains.
Please note that this basket is handwoven, therefore minor flaws and imperfections are normal and to be expected.
