Online Return Process & Policy
In-store items (in perfect shape) may be exchanged for store credit within 7 days of purchase.
All clearance/sale items, jewelry, special orders, rugs, art, lighting, E-Design consults, health & beauty, soaps, sprays, & furniture sales are final and non-returnable.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org within 7 days of delivery to receive a return authorization number. If the return is authorized, the package must be in transit within 4 days.
Item must be in original condition. The buyer will pay return shipping as well as shipping of the replacement item. We strongly recommend buyers get adequate insurance and tracking information for the return shipment. Items damaged, broken, or lost in return transit are still the buyer’s responsibility and are subject to loss of refund. Unauthorized returns, items returned damaged, or items that are soiled will not be accepted and item(s) will be shipped back to the purchaser at a cost to them. If the purchaser does not pay the return shipping within 30 days, the product will be forfeited and subject to being resold and no refund or store credit will be given.
Once an order is placed, it cannot be canceled or modified. Please note we do not allow cancellation of an order due to shipping delays unless it is 3 months past the expected arrival date.
All in-stock items on orders using “Pickup In-Store” as a shipping option, will be available for pickup at the store within 20 minutes.
Please feel free to email or call us with any specific questions prior to ordering. This includes specific dimension or color questions that you may have, as many of our products are vintage and vary item to item. Any special requests made after an order is placed are subject to our discretion and do not under any circumstances authorize modification or cancellation of an order.
We will make every effort to get your order out as fast as we can, but please be advised most non-special orders should ship in 7-10 business days. Furniture and larger items should ship in 7-21 business days. We will try to use the shipping method entered at time of purchase, but occasionally a better shipping option may be selected when we ship it out (ex USPS vs FedEx). Please note that any modifications or special requests made after an order has been placed will extend the shipping timeframe and may result in additional delays.
Please note we are a small, family-owned, and operated business and while we make every effort to avoid them, shipping delays are possible.
Threve Mercantile uses Green Shipping! Whenever possible we try to recycle boxes and shipping material for your order to reduce waste.
Threve Mercantile does not offer free shipping. If in the event that for whatever reason you do not pay the shipping on your order (failure to pay or website glitch), please note the order will not ship until the shipping has been paid. Please note we do not allow for the cancellation of orders after the order has been placed.
Please note that all of our products are made by hand, and thus, subtle imperfections and variations in materials and finishes are standard and expected to be found.
All damaged item claims must be reported in writing via email within 48 hours of the delivery date, along with photos of the damage/s. Due to the small-batch nature of our products, any damages reported after this initial 48-hour period will be void and unable to be exchanged. For claims greater than $50, the refund will be sent after the insurance claim process and investigation has been completed. Please note, this may take 4-8 weeks. For claims under $50, the refund will be sent immediately. Failure to follow our claims process may result in denial of the claim and loss of refund. You may be required to send any damaged items back prior to receiving a replacement item or a refund.
We do our best to protect each and every package that leaves our shop but of course, once they leave our hands, your package is subject to many other hands before it reaches your door, and on occasion, breakage does happen. Please understand we are a small locally owned business that happens to have a website and therefore do not have the means or the reach that Amazon and large businesses like it have. When packages break or get lost, we hold the shipping carrier ( FedEx UPS, USPS, or Freight line) responsible, who broke the package or lost it, for the damages. This is why we ensure each and every package that leaves our shop. We open a claim against the insurance, and all decisions regarding the claim, are out of our hands. All decisions regarding the claim, are completely up to the shipping carrier. We have no control or say regarding the claim. Payout amount, payout timeline, additional proof needed, additional packaging inspections etc, are all subject to the shipping carrier’s guidelines and timeline. We will do our best to speed things along, and check-in with them frequently. Once a decision is made, and a check is paid, we will contact you for payment. Timeline for claims can vary, and we will do our best to estimate that for you at the time of the claim.
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Please note that we shoot all our products in either natural light or studio lighting. Depending on the lighting in your home and the light display setting on the device you’re using, the colors of our products may look different in your home.
We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors and images of our products that appear at the store. We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor’s display of any color will be accurate.
We reserve the right but are not obligated, to limit the sales of our products or Services to any person, geographic region or jurisdiction. We may exercise this right on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to limit the quantities of any products or services that we offer. HOLD AND STORAGE FEES
Items will only be held with full payment. These may be called in or purchased in store.
If purchase is not picked up within 7 days of purchase, unless otherwise agreed upon, a $5/day storage fee will be assessed. This fee must be paid before product will be released for pickup.
Threve mercantile is not liable for any damages to products that are left at store after purchase.
We are not liable for any damage during loading, unloading, or delivery of product.
If product is not picked up within 60 days of purchase, item will be eligible for resale without refund.
Some items may require assembly. Threve Mercantile is not responsible for any damages that occur during assembly or installation of products. For lighting, we recommend using a licensed electrician for installation.
Agreement to Arbitrate
Arbitration: All claims and disputes arising under or relating to this agreement are to be settled by binding arbitration in the state of North Carolina or another location mutually agreeable by both parties. The arbitration shall be conducted on a confidential basis pursuant to the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association. Any decision or award as a result of such arbitration proceeding shall be in writing and shall provide an explanation for all conclusions of law and fact and shall include the assessment of costs, expenses, and reasonable attorney fees. Any such arbitration shall be conducted by an arbitrator experienced in business law and shall include a written record of the arbitration hearing. The parties reserve the right to object to any individual who shall be employed by or affiliated with a competing organization or entity. An award of arbitration may be confirmed in a court of competent jurisdiction. Please note, the losing party of arbitration will be help responsible for all legal fees.
